Technology Takes the Lead! Atomrobot’s “Tianbing One” Humanoid Robot Adds a Touch of Innovation to the 2025 Tianjin Marathon
● 158,026 participants competed for entry
On October 26, the 2025 Tianjin Marathon came to a successful close as the final runner crossed the finish line at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.
From its debut at the Marathon Expo (Oct. 23–25) to its cheering service at the finish line, Tianbing One brought a unique blend of soft technology and heartfelt interaction, infusing the 2025 Tianjin Marathon with a distinctive touch of intelligent vitality.

A Showstopper at the Expo:
Tianjin’s First Humanoid Robot Delivers a “Surprise Encounter”

“I just picked up my race kit and this silver robot immediately caught my eye!” said one participant filming Tianbing One at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention Center on October 23.
In the exhibition area themed “Sports Integration, Green Harmony,” the silver-toned humanoid robot welcomed visitors with local Tianjin pastries in hand. It performed fluid gestures such as waving, making heart shapes, and giving thumbs-up signs, while greeting guests in a perfect Tianjin dialect:
“Welcome to the 2025 Tianjin Marathon Expo! Have a bite — replenish your energy!”
Its lively performance made it the undeniable “traffic magnet” of the technology showcase area.
As the first humanoid robot developed in Tianjin, Tianbing One carried a sense of local pride. According to Atomrobot staff, the robot features an innovative parallel structure in its waist, allowing for a 200kg load capacity and precise motion control — a prime example of industrial-grade technology entering everyday life.
At the photo area, Tianbing One guided participants through voice interaction, forming heart shapes with its mechanical hands and narrowing the distance between humans and robots. Many visitors remarked that it was “more flexible than expected,”
with thousands stopping by for photos during the three-day event.

Warmth at the Finish Line:
A Double Dose of Ceremony and Emotion

On October 26, as marathoners poured into the finish zone at the Olympic Center, Tianbing One was there to celebrate their achievements.
The robot waved, made heart gestures, and gave thumbs-ups to encourage every finisher.
“Crossing the line and seeing a robot clapping and making hearts—it’s something new, and surprisingly touching,” said one runner. “It really added to the sense of accomplishment.”
Throughout the day, the robot interacted with thousands of runners, showcasing not only its technical stability and humanlike communication, but also representing a vivid example of ‘Made-in-Tianjin’ intelligent manufacturing applied to public life.

A Two-Way Journey:
Technology and Sports Enriching Tianjin’s Urban Identity

“The Tianjin Marathon isn’t just a sports event—it’s a stage for the city’s image,” organizers said at the post-race press conference.
Data shows that during the event, sales in key districts like Hedong and Heping rose by over 9%, while Tianbing One’s presence became a lively window for runners to experience Tianjin’s “smart manufacturing” strength.
Evolving from industrial use to public service, Tianbing One’s cross-sector debut reflects a growing trend in humanoid robotics—from specialized applications to generalized, human-centered interaction.
According to Atomrobot, the Tianbing One humanoid robot will soon expand into multiple fields:
providing intelligent tour guidance in cultural tourism,
enabling flexible production in industrial settings,
and enhancing engagement at sports events through interactive services.
“Our collaboration with the Tianjin Marathon marks just the beginning,” said the project lead.
Though the race has ended, the journey of innovation continues.
