Yesterday in Hangzhou, the National AI Application Pilot Platform (Embodied Intelligence) was officially unveiled. At the same time, an innovation and development conference on embodied intelligence was held, focusing on connecting “technology, industry, and capital.”

As an alumni-founded enterprise of Tianjin University, ATOMROBOT’s Founder and CEO Song Tao attended the 2nd Embodied Intelligence Technology and Industry Development Forum hosted by Tianjin University. During the forum, ATOMROBOT delivered a keynote presentation and participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Industrial Trends and Technology Outlook in the First Year of Embodied Intelligence Commercialization.” The company also showcased its Mini parallel robot solution at the exhibition area.

The National AI Application Pilot Platform (Embodied Intelligence) is the only national-level pilot platform in China dedicated specifically to the field of embodied intelligence. It aims to build a public technical service platform centered on computing power support, open data access, model services, and scenario validation—bridging advanced research breakthroughs with industrial demonstration and mass production. The conference featured seven parallel forums, including the Tianjin University Embodied Intelligence Forum, with ATOMROBOT serving as one of the co-organizers.

ATOMROBOT’s Founder and Chairman Liu Songtao and Founder and CEO Song Tao are both alumni of Tianjin University. With more than a decade of deep expertise in parallel robot technology, ATOMROBOT has grown into a nationally recognized “Little Giant” specialized and innovative enterprise, having provided high-speed industrial robot products and solutions to over 1,000 customers worldwide.

At the conference’s Embodied Intelligence Industry & Technology Supply–Demand Matchmaking Flash Expo, ATOMROBOT presented its Mini parallel robot, purpose-built for high-speed sorting and pick-and-place applications involving lightweight materials such as electronic components, food and pharmaceuticals, and daily chemical products. The system achieves a stable picking rate of 50–60 cycles per minute and is well-suited for high-frequency, collision-avoidant, flexible operations in precision manufacturing lines.

In addition, the company launched its embodied intelligent robot Tianbing No.1 in 2025, featuring a parallel-waist structural design and targeting scenarios in industrial manufacturing and warehousing logistics. This strategic development closely aligns with the core mission of the newly unveiled national pilot platform—to provide mid-stage validation, scenario iteration, and industrialization support for embodied intelligence technologies.

Tianjin University has accumulated strong research capabilities in embodied intelligence. Its self-developed embodied foundation model, Embodied-R1.5, has achieved significant breakthroughs and helped incubate several alumni enterprises, including ATOMROBOT, DeepTech, and Yingqu. As an alumnus, Song Tao’s participation in the forum enabled in-depth exchanges between academia and industry on technology transfer and commercialization pathways through ATOMROBOT’s keynote speech and roundtable dialogue.

From foundational research in university laboratories, to engineered products from alumni enterprises, to scenario validation and large-scale deployment through a national pilot platform—this complete chain of “research → transformation → application” is now accelerating its implementation in Hangzhou.

Industry observers believe that alumni enterprises leveraging national-level public platforms represent an effective pathway to overcoming the challenges of “high cost and long cycles” in embodied intelligence industrialization. With the official operation of the National AI Application Pilot Platform, more specialized and innovative enterprises like ATOMROBOT are expected to gain one-stop resource support, accelerating the transition from “prototype” to “product” and from “exhibition booth” to “production line.”
